Sarah Paulson he is surprised by the way his old friend Amanda Peet summed up his recent battle with cancer.
“My best friend, Amanda Peet … Instagram on Saturday, March 21. “@newyorkermag published it today, and I’m screaming from the rooftops with joy. I hope you all take the time to read it.”
He added, “If you’re running around doing other things, record me and you can listen to me trying to do the right piece. My friend is the publisher of @newyorkermag. How bad is that? Bird, I love you more than that.”
Paulson then inspired some of his famous friends to read Peet’s story.
“I’m going to study now!!” Naomi Watts he wrote in the comments section, while Rose Byrne he revealed that he was already “educated [the essay] this morning” and I found the prose “absolutely stunning.”
Ali Wentworthon the other hand, he added, “It’s well written. I’m very familiar with it.”
In his case, Peet, 54, revealed that he was she was diagnosed with stage I breast cancer “last fall” while both of his parents were in hospice care.
“I’ve been told for years that I have ‘dense’ and ‘busy’ breasts – not as a compliment but as a warning that they need extra care,” Your Friends and Neighbors star wrote. “I’ve been seeing a breast surgeon every six months for checkups. The Friday before Labor Day, I went in for what I thought would be a routine scan.”
Peet’s doctor then told him that he “didn’t like the way something looked on the ultrasound” and asked for the actor to undergo a biopsy. Two tumors, one of which was malignant, were seen in one breast.

As Peet waited to find out what kind of cancer he had, his parents were on their deathbeds.
“Our parents, who have been divorced for a long time, both lived in hospice, on the opposite coast,” Peet recalled in this forum, talking about his sister. “Our mother started in June, but my father’s was only one week old, so we didn’t expect him to leave first, so I flew to New York. I didn’t make it before my father breathed his last, but I saw his body before it was taken out of his house.
Peet returned home to Los Angeles, where he found out that his cancer was “hormone-receptor-positive” and “HER2-negative.” He received his first “clear cut” shortly before his mother’s death in January.
