Pete Davidson’s Girlfriend Elsie Hewitt On Why She ‘Hated’ Being Pregnant
Pete Davidsongirlfriend, Elsie Hewittopened up about why she “hated pregnancy” before the couple welcomed their daughter, Scottie, in December 2025.
“For the most part, I hated being pregnant. I was so uncomfortable,” Hewitt, 29, wrote in her book. Elle published on Wednesday, February 2026. “I was always sick, tired and in pain.”
Before Scottie’s birth, Hewitt shared with his social media followers in November 2025 that he was “in pain from the beginning. [of her pregnancy] again [was] it’s getting worse and worse.” At the time, the model suspected that her battle with endometriosis – a reproductive condition where tissue grows outside the uterus – was “intensely linked” to her Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder. (Hewitt had laparoscopic surgery shortly before the pregnancy.)
“Due to my reproductive health issues, I chose to be under the care of an OB-GYN rather than a midwife,” she wrote to him. Elle the story. “It was the most clinical approach to pregnancy and birth – not what I liked – but what I felt I needed for my health and safety.”
She continued, “I found myself in yet another frustrating period of accountability in a medical system that often fails to listen to women as carefully as it should.
Elsewhere in the story, Hewitt touched on why she chose not to breastfeed Scottie after seriously considering the option.
“When people asked if I was planning to breastfeed, my mind was gone,” she remembers. “The most important thing for me was to do the best for my child. I will always do the best for him.”
She acknowledged that breastfeeding is often considered the “gold standard” as it “provides the immune system, unparalleled nutrition and powerful communication,” although there are serious complications that can arise from the mother. Hewitt referred to the “physical” challenges for a new mother as she prepares to breastfeed.
Another option for mothers is to feed their baby with formula, although Hewitt takes issue with the common view of using formula as a “safe alternative” when “something goes wrong.”

Kevin Winter/Getty Images“I was aware, even before pregnancy, of the shame inherent in breastfeeding,” she wrote. “It was necessary to fight that shame, and to look at some of the ethics around breastfeeding, to make sure that what was good for me and what was good for my baby were not at different levels or standards – they were the same.”
Ultimately, Hewitt felt it was important to consider her “mental health” and “recovery” before deciding not to breastfeed.
“I feel lucky that I haven’t had pressure to breastfeed from people in my life. “My mother, who breastfed my sisters and I and is proud of it, made a point of telling me, simply, that the decision was entirely mine. He didn’t say anything else, and his restraint meant a lot to me. The OB-GYN and hospital staff did not try to persuade me either.”
The old one Saturday Night Live star Davidson, 32, and Hewitt shared the happy news on December 18, 2025, that they welcomed their first child.

In that Instagram post, Hewitt described Scottie as arguably “his best work yet.”
“I’m completely overwhelmed with love and gratitude and disbelief,” she enthused, with Davidson jokingly adding, “Wu tang forever.”
In January, the couple only confirmed Us Weekly that they were already thinking about having more children.
“I want him to have a friend, really,” Davidson said. “We love her idea of being a big sister.”
On the other hand, Hewitt admitted that her desire to have more children soon after Scottie’s arrival was surprising.
“I didn’t think I’d ever think about having another one,” Hewitt said Us. “The idea of that feels absolutely crazy right now. … The process of giving birth is so crazy, but it’s so empowering once it’s done. Having this little thing, I really can’t explain how amazing everything is.”
He added, “The idea of doing something else and doing it to your sibling is something that I’m already like, ‘I want to do it again.’ They are very small when they hatch, and they grow very quickly. It’s crazy.”
Hewitt and Davidson were first linked in March 2025 and announced they were expecting their first child four months later.
