Morgan Evans Makes Weird Comments About GF Laci Kaye Booth

“I really care about him, and I’m very grateful for where we are right now, and I just don’t want to mess with it,” Evans, 40, said of Booth, 30, during the Tuesday, March 3, episode of Bobby Bones‘ “The BobbyCast” podcast.
Evans began dating the American Idol finalist in 2024, two years after her divorce from the country singer Kelsea Ballerini. The Australian songwriter said dating “wasn’t really dating.” [his] list” following her split from Ballerini, 32, but had known Booth for years through radio shows and music festivals.
“He’s great. … We just connected on that level and enjoyed being together,” he continued Tuesday. “I will say, I’ve learned from my experiences with my past relationships and past lives that there’s a level of detail that I think is healthy that I can share, and then there’s a level that’s like … ”
Evans called Booth a “proper legend” who is “really secretive.”
“We were really willing to share what we wanted to share and, like, keep what we wanted to keep to ourselves,” he explained.
Evans also spoke in Booth’s singing voice. In January, the pair released their single “Two Broken Hearts,” from Evans’ upcoming album, Steel Town, out March 20.
“When he opens his mouth and sings, it’s just a gift, I’m very happy for him and the music he makes,” he said. “I’ve been through it. You have to learn something from what you’re going through.”

Evans and Booth confirmed their love at the Live in the Vineyard Goes Country festival in Napa Valley, California, in April 2025.
“This is my boyfriend,” laughed Booth as he pointed to Evans. “And I love him.”
The two later made their red carpet debut at the CMA Awards in November 2025.
In between romances with Booth, Evans found himself involved in the theater with Ballerini’s ex-boyfriend. Chase Stokes. Stokes, 33, took aim at Evans in a now-deleted comment under Evans’ interview on Tuesday.
“This is the saddest excuse ever. Get a happy life,” Stokes wrote.
In response to the comment, Bones, 45, wrote, “If you’re going to come that hard maybe don’t stop. Also, you have nothing bad to say about this person. …
In his interview with Bones, Evans spoke of feeling blindsided when Ballerini – whom he married in 2019 – filed for divorce.
“I never did [expecting it]and it surprised me,” said Evans, “But yeah, that whole time was a blur. It almost feels like someone else, from where I’m sitting now. I just look back and say, ‘Oh, my God.’ … Yes, it was just a whirlwind, life-changing moment.”
