Lisa Kudrow Comforted by Friends After Matthew Perry’s Death

Lisa Kudrow he will always miss his late costar Matthew Perry thanks, in part, to old episodes of their hit TV show, Friends.
“After Matthew’s death there were marathons [on TV] and it was really comforting to watch the show,” said Kudrow, 62, on Friday, March 27, appearing in the UK. Capital FM radio program. “And because it makes me laugh, and he was there.”
Perry, who died in 2023, and Kudrow starred in the hit NBC sitcom the opposite Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer again Matt LeBlanc.
“He was very funny, I mean, very funny,” Kudrow recalled Friday, referring to Perry’s role as the sarcastic Chandler Bing. “I’m sorry to everyone else, but really.”
Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay for all 10 seasons, initially didn’t watch the show in its heyday.
“I didn’t watch all the episodes when we were shooting, I have a child and none of us are there [watching],” i Come back the actor recalled. “It was like, ‘Oh, Thursday night [at] 8 o’clock?’ We were too early.”
After watching Friends decades later, Kudrow still admits that Phoebe is “a funny character.”
“Everybody makes me laugh,” he added. “Then, you realize how important that kind of escape is [on TV] with a laugh that makes you feel happy that there are people connecting… [and] there is one to the other. It’s just important, kind of healing.”
News broke in October 2023 that Perry had died at the age of 54. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner later confirmed that the actor died of “ketamine side effects.” (Five charges were subsequently filed in his death.)

“Shoot the pilot, Friends Like Uswe were taken at the time, we were at the NBC Upfronts. Then… He suggested we play poker AND he made it so fun when we first connected,” Kudrow he wrote on Instagram in November 2023, recalling the origins of his friendship with Perry. “Thank you for that, thank you for making me laugh with what you said, my muscles hurt, and tears came down my face EVERY DAY.
He added, “Thank you for your open heart in a six-way relationship that requires compromise, and a lot of ‘talking’. Thank you for showing up to work healthy and, totally sane. Thank you for the best 10 years anyone could have. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for everything I’ve learned about GRACE and LOVE by knowing you. Thank you for the time I had with you, Matthew.”
