Authorities in Kentucky have arrested a high school teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting one of her students.
Mary “Hanna” Mattingly was arrested in Nelson County on Monday, March 30.
The Bardstown Police Department said in a social media post that the 31-year-old teacher was charged with sexual abuse and the purchase or promotion of the use of electronic devices by a child.
Mattingly is a teacher at Bardstown High School, police said. Calls to school officials were not returned Monday.
Police are said to have received a report that Mattingly had sexually assaulted a high school student, and while investigating the allegations, they found evidence to prove that.
Police have not released any other details about the evidence they collected against Mattingly.
In addition to sexually assaulting students, Mattingly also sent them partially nude photos.
Bardstown police said the investigation is ongoing. It was unclear whether Mattingly had an attorney, and records did not show any applications filed by him or on his behalf.
Us Weekly was unable to specify how long Mattingly has been working at the school.

There has been an increase in the number of arrests of teachers in recent weeks.
Last week, Nadia M. Horn was arrested in Wisconsin after employees of the Eau Claire Area School District told police that “an inappropriate relationship between staff and students could occur.”
Authorities say Horn, 22, had “multiple” victims and their investigation is ongoing.

Fisler, 36, was arrested after the victim reported the allegations to police on January 23. The victim, an adult, said they were sexually assaulted by Fisler while in his class at Orchard Valley Middle School.
And in Massachusetts, a former teacher at a popular all-girls school was arrested after being accused of raping two of her students. Matthew Rutledge was indicted by a grand jury after two of his former students at Miss Hall’s School, Hilary Simon again Melissa Farestestified against him.
Rutledge, 64, was charged nearly two years after Simon, 39, and Fares, 33, went public with allegations of sexual abuse against them.
