Newly released police video shows Justin Timberlake struggling with sobriety tests at a Hamptons stop in 2024 that led to his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Timberlake was arrested in June 2024 after police accused him of driving under the influence. He later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while impaired and received community assistance, as well as issuing a public apology, as part of a plea deal.

The nearly eight-hour-long footage shows “I Can’t Stop the Feeling!” The singer’s first stop after Sag Harbor police said he ran a stop sign, swerved out of his lane and exited his BMW smelling of alcohol.

After being ejected, the officer asked Timberlake why he was in the house. He replied, “I’m on a world tour.”

As the police explained the instructions, he apologized, saying, “My heart is racing.”

“I’m a little nervous,” Timberlake said.

In the back seat of the police car, he asked, “Why are you arresting me?”

Timberlake was later told at the police station that he would be held overnight, prompting him to say, “I’m going to be here all night? You guys are crazy.”

Earlier this month, Timberlake sued Sag Harbor Village and the police department in an attempt to block the release of body camera footage.

In a petition seeking to block the release of the image, Timberlake’s legal team said it was informed on March 1 of the police department’s intention to respond to a request under the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) to release the body camera images, which will include a review for health and safety reasons.

Timberlake said the video “contains personal information and confidential information that is not relevant to a public law enforcement action and would not have been seen by the public but with the presence and recording of the police.”

On Friday, however, Timberlake’s lawyers said in a joint filing with the town that the video “does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy” under state law and agreed to the release.
