Inside Pro Golfer Gary Woodland and Wife Gabby’s Relationship

A golfer Gary Woodland and his wife, Gabbythey’ve been together for at least 15 years—married for ten years—and rarely leave each other’s sides.

The couple have three children together, Jackson, Maddox again Lennox.

Gary and Gabby have had their fair share of ups and downs throughout the years – from Gary’s top golfing triumph, to his struggle to recover from brain surgery in 2023 – but they’ve stuck together through it all and seem stronger than ever.

On March 29, 2026, Gary won the Texas Children’s Houston Open, his first PGA Tour victory since his surgery and his fifth career PGA.

After the win, the emotional golfer shared a hug with Gabby on the 18th green.

2011

Although it is not clear when they officially met, they were first linked in 2011 when they were seen together when Gary competed in the World Cup, which he went on to win.

2016

The couple married in 2016 in Turks and Caicos, as Gary continues to establish himself as one of the best golfers in the world. At that point in their relationship, Gary had won two PGA Tour tournaments, the Transitions Championship in 2011 and the Reno-Taho Open in 2013.

2017

A year after tying the knot, Gary and Gabby announced that they were expecting twins. Sadly, they lost one child after pregnancy complications. The second, Jaxson, was born prematurely but healthy.

Months later, Gary was inducted into the Topeka Hall of Fame, where he took the opportunity to pay tribute to Gabby.

“I want to thank a few special people in my life who have helped me a lot to get to where I am today, and that starts with my wife who is my rock,” said Gary. “You’ve taught me a lot in the last 14 weeks about family and strength and fighting, dealing with the pregnancy we’re going through.

2019

The couple welcomed identical twin girls, Maddox and Lennox, two years after their first child.

2023

In August 2023, Gary announced that he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent major surgery in September.

Earlier, Gabby said that navigating the couple’s various problems strengthened their relationship.

“The love we have for each other now is a hundred times bigger than it was a year ago,” Gabby said in the third season of the Netflix documentary, Full Swing. “A thousand times more than it was when we got married.”

2024

Gary is back on the golf course for the first time since surgery for the 2024 Masters tournament. Gabby, of course, was next to him.

He shared a photo of himself and his family at Augusta National.

“Always a special day with family,” she captioned the post.

2026

In March, Gary spoke about his ongoing struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder, stemming from his brain surgery.

“I can’t waste energy hiding this anymore, and I’ve been blessed with a lot of support here on the Tour,” Woodland said in an interview in March 2026. “Everyone has been amazing. Every week I go out and everyone is happy and excited to be back. I feel that every week – it’s great to see you through this, it’s great to see you 100 percent – and I appreciate that love and support. But inside, I feel like I’m dying, and I feel like I’m living a lie.”

Later in the month, Gary won the Texas Children’s Houston Open, his first PGA Tour victory since the surgery and his fifth career PGA.

After the win, an emotional Gary shared a hug with Gabby on the 18th green.
