Today the hostel Savannah Guthrie has been asking the public for help following the mysterious disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthriein Arizona.
Pima County police allege that Nancy was abducted from her home in the Catalina Foothills north of Tucson, Arizona, on the morning of February 1, 2026. According to the law, a friend of Nancy’s from church first noticed that she was not attending that Sunday service and contacted one of Nancy’s children, who eventually alerted the police at her home.
Since Nancy’s disappearance, local police and federal investigators have obtained DNA evidence and surveillance camera footage from her home but have not publicly named a possible suspect in the kidnapping, as of publication.
Federal investigators are offering a $100,000 reward for tips, while the Guthrie family is offering its own $1 million reward “to be paid solely for the recovery of Nancy Guthrie,” according to Savannah’s Instagram.
“Please bring him home. Don’t be named,” Savannah pleaded with the public on February 27.

Savannah Guthrie Breaks Her Silence With A Message About Faith
Hours after Nancy Guthrie was reported missing, NBC News announced that Savannah Guthrie will no longer travel to Milan and Cortina, Italy, to cover the 2026 Winter Olympics. The journalist broke his silence and said that his family believes in “the words raised in unity, love, and hope.”

As the nationwide manhunt for Nancy Guthrie enters its third day on February 4, 2026, Savannah Guthrie released a heartbreaking video statement along with her siblings, her sister. Annie and my brother Cameron Guthrie.
“On behalf of our family, we want to thank you all for your prayers for our beloved mother, Nancy. We feel and continue to believe that she feels the same,” Savannah told her Instagram followers. “Our mother is a kind, loyal, faithful, incredibly loving, fair and bright woman. Annie spoke next, admitting to viewers that the “light” was absent from the lives of her entire family except for Nancy.
“Nancy is our mother; we are her children. She is our light,” said Annie. “She clings to happiness and all situations in life. She chooses happiness every day even though she has gone through great trials of pain and sorrow. We will always be people, ordinary people who need our mother. Mother, if you are listening, we need you to come home. We miss you.”

As reports of multiple ransom notes swirled, a California man, Derrick Callellahe was later arrested on February 5 on suspicion of making a “false ransom demand,” according to the FBI. The US Attorney’s Office charged Callella with transmitting a ransom request in interstate commerce, and without disclosing his identity, using a communication device with the intent to abuse, threaten or abuse a person.
Savannah Guthrie Sends a Direct Message to Her Mother’s Captor
Savannah Guthrie confirmed in an Instagram 7 February 2026, video that her family received a message from the alleged kidnapper of Nancy Guthrie.
“We got your message and we understand it,” he said in a message that was prepared by siblings Annie and Camron Guthrie. “We are now asking you to return our mother to us so that we can be happy with her, that is the only way we will have peace, this is very important to us and we will pay.”

Savannah Guthrie Speaks Out With Ransom Deadline Expiring
On February 9, 2026, Savannah released a new statement to “share thoughts as we enter another week of this terrible event.” Meanwhile, the latest ransom deadline from the suspected kidnappers was hours away from expiring.

Director of the FBI Kash Patel released new security camera footage of a possible suspect in the February 10, 2026 disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. The footage showed a masked man approaching Nancy’s location and apparently trying to turn off her security camera.
“We believe he’s still alive. Bring him home,” Savannah asked via Instagram following the release of these new photos. “Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

On February 12, 2026, Savannah Guthrie shared an Instagram Reel of home movies featuring her mom, Nancy Guthrie. Archive footage showed Nancy hugging her young children in their garden and posing for family photos with them.

Amid reports of continued ransom demands, local authorities deployed a digital scanner to help track Nancy Guthrie’s heart machine. Savannah Guthrie then told her Instagram followers that her family is “still holding out hope” that her mother will be found.
“We still believe, and I wanted to say to anyone who has him, or who knows where he is, that it’s not too late and you’re not lost or alone,” he said on February 15, 2026.
Savannah also reminded the kidnapper that “it’s never too late to do the right thing and we’re here.”
“We believe, we believe in essential goodness [of] everyone, and it’s never too late,” he added.
The next day, the Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed in a statement that the Guthrie family “has been cleared as suspects in this case.”
“The family has been very cooperative and kind and they are the victims in this case,” Nanos said.
Savannah Guthrie Raises Personal Prize to $1 Million
As the one-month anniversary of Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance approaches, Savannah Guthrie announced on February 24, 2026, that her family is increasing their personal reward offer to $1 million. He clarified that “the family reward of up to $1 million will be paid only for the return of Nancy Guthrie, in accordance with the FBI’s terms of payment of its reward in this case.”
“Does anyone know how to find our mom and bring her home,” he captioned the post.
In an accompanying video, Savannah said her family was “still burning with hope” during Nancy’s disappearance, even though they realized she might not be alive.
“We also know that he may be lost. He may be gone. He may already be gone home to the Lord he loves and is dancing in the eaven with his mother and father and his beloved brother, Pierce, and our father, and if this is to be, we will accept it,” he said. “But we need to know where he is. We need him to come home.”
Two days later, he reiterated that “tips can be anonymous [and the] the reward can be paid in cash.”
