Donnie Wahlberg’s Boston Blue Talks Danny, Maria’s Breakup

Boston Blue is set to face the wrath of Blue Bloods fans last week after splitting up their favorite couple.

On the Friday, April 17, episode of the CBS series, Danny Reagan’s (Donnie Wahlberggirlfriend, Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), he came back to help with the case. However, their strength had run out and Maria later revealed that she had suffered from her mother’s deteriorating mental health after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s. He surprised Danny – and viewers – by hitting a snag in their relationship.

“He’s in trouble. He’s not sure what to do,” Wahlberg, 56, said to himself. Us Weekly at CBS Fest on Wednesday, April 15. “Danny is very stubborn [though so] he does not go down without a fight.”

Wahlberg, who has played Danny since 2010, urged fans not to worry too much, adding, “They have to have hope [them to] wake up again [their romance].” Wahlberg’s on-screen costar – and Danny’s co-star – Sonequa Martin-Green weighed in on the turn.

“I would love to [to see them back together],” he said angrily, “I love Marissa and I think they’re cute together.”

According to Wahlberg, there is a plan to “extend” Danny and Maria’s journey.

“I grew up watching General Hospital and All My Children together [I remember when] Laura disappeared,” he recalled. “Laura disappeared and Luke was upset and everyone was like, ‘Oh man. Laura has given up on the game.’ Guess what? He came back and ran to hug her. Then he left again. But that’s right, TV!”

Elsewhere in the episode, Sarah’s (Maggie Lawson) personal life was very successful for Seth (Mike Vogel) asked the question before Danny and Maria parted ways.

“One of the things I love most about our show is that it’s life,” commented Lawson, 45. “That’s human and true, sometimes when these beautiful festivals happen, it’s a reminder of other painful things that people go through and it can be the cause of something not so simple.”

He continued: “I love that we showed it the way we did that but it’s also sad, so I can say, I’m sorry that we were the ones who created that really cruel conversation.”

Lawson said Us “he always hoped for love” when it came to Danny and Maria. His costar Gloria Rubenhowever, “he got a little upset,” he told us, “I always hope that for a few days I’ll be like no.”
