Podcaster Joe Rogan endorsed former reality TV star Spencer Pratt on Wednesday to run for mayor of Los Angeles, noting that even though he no longer lives in California, he hopes to win.
Pratt, best known for his badass on-screen persona on MTV’s “The Hills,” decided to run for office after his home was destroyed in the California wildfires. He believes that due to the incompetence of local officials, the disaster has become worse than it should have been.
“To be clear, I have never wanted to run for any political office or have anything to do with politicians. What happened was after I spent a year revealing how my house and my parents’ house burned, and my neighbors burned to the ground with 7,000 houses, then I realized that there was a cover-up going on,” Pratt told Rogan.

“No one stands up to face the mayor who caused this tragedy and so many others,” he continued.
Pratt said he realized he didn’t want to be just a “yapper”, someone who complains or wants action without taking action.
“I made these videos. I’m telling the truth. I got a congressional investigation. I went to Washington. And I met with everybody that I possibly could as a citizen, and I was like, ‘Okay, well, game on now. I’m going to go into your headquarters and just take your job and get rid of all these toxic organizations that are destroying our way of life in Los Angeles.”
Pratt argued that for his efforts, he doesn’t have a grand vision of what LA could be, but something that works, declaring, “I don’t have a new utopia of what LA should be. I want LA back. I want an LA that I can grow into.”
Part of his vision, he said, would be to use the police to actually enforce the law and clean up local streets plagued by crime, homelessness and drug abuse.

“We are walking around, we are arresting people and people who are not arrested, we are receiving compulsory medical treatment, we will start clearing the roads, we will clear the camps,” he said. “Just think of the communities, like how people are going to be groped in these places when I walk in, and I’m like, ‘It’s done.’
Later in the interview, Pratt recalled how she leaned into being a heel on screen in reality TV shows, but after being hated for so many years, she learned that it’s better to be loved by trying to make a difference in real life.
“Listen, man. I’m voting for you. I can’t vote for you, but I’m rooting for you,” Rogan said, noting that he’s a Texas resident and not a Californian. “I mean, if I lived in Los Angeles, no question, I would vote.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Mayor Bass’ campaign and did not immediately receive a response.
