Could Steve Howey Return to Super Power After Season 3?

Steve Howey does not return to High power as a main cast member, but could Captain Wagner return in season 3 in a smaller role?
While Howey’s character was shot in the season 2 finale, his fate is yet to be determined. Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) arrived just in time to get Wagner medical attention, and his future depends largely on what the new runner decides.
Deadline reported earlier this month that Howey, 48, had only signed a one-year deal. Wagner’s story hasn’t been fully fleshed out yet, and there’s a chance that Howey could return as a guest star at the beginning of season 3 to wrap up his arc.
The actor is booked and busy with the upcoming seasons of Off campus, Ransom Canyon again Lincoln’s attorney. High power and is still waiting for another runner to take over Todd Harthan exited the show to focus on the upcoming live-action adaptation of Christopher PaoliniA book series for young adults The Legacy Cycle.
The high energy was originally created by Drew Goddard. Rob Thomason the other hand, he was expected to serve as a runner before exiting in June 2024, months before the start of the series. Finally Harthan was announced as the new producer and served as executive producer.
Harthan teased the idea of a series while talking to him Us Weekly in January.
“It’s a very difficult journey. We’re going to start taking out the most sensitive stuff with Morgan, as it relates to all things Roman,” he said at the time. “There are all kinds of trials and tribulations that will happen to the kids in the house. It will be messy and difficult – hopefully in the best possible way to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.”
He concluded, “Our job now as we get to the back half of season two is to fill in some of the big gaps and develop some of the relationships. You’re going to see some strong things happen within Steve Howey’s character, and Captain Wagner is really starting to blossom in the back half. That creates a nice mess with the soap in a lot of the usual ways. It’s just coming together and trying to bring our audience together and keep trying to bring our audience together. Guess.”
Howey, on the other hand, is open about joining High power in season 2.
“Nick comes in and ruffles some feathers. But his intentions and goals aren’t to do that. He wants to help and we’re starting to see that in different episodes,” he teased in September 2025. “That was my fear and my concern. When you have lightning like that in a bottle of energy for these characters, throwing in another character can throw that into something. I still haven’t done that cool.”
High power has been renewed for a third season. All episodes are currently streaming on Hulu.
