Vermont Man Accused of Following and Peeping on Women

Authorities in Vermont have arrested a man accused of following different women into their homes before checking on them through windows.
Burlington police were charged Sole Parkin with nine counts of voyeurism after arresting him on Monday, April 6.
Parkin, 25, is a program administrator for the Winooski School District, NBC5 reports.
Parkin denied the charges against him, Us Weekly confirmed.
The judge released him, according to reports, but with the order to return at night. Parkin will be required to be at home every day between the hours of 8pm and 6:30am, the judge ordered.
Last month, police said several women reported seeing a man peering through their open windows in the city’s Hill Section. Some women also reported that they were followed by an unknown man as they were walking home at night, according to detectives.
“Yesterday afternoon we became aware of allegations against a support staff member in our district,” the Winooski School District said in a statement sent to NBC5. “Although these allegations are not related to the school district, we acted quickly out of an abundance of caution. Please be reminded that all staff are vetted and vetted extensively prior to employment. Additionally, support staff are supervised by licensed staff, and we know where all students are at all times.”
Added the district’s statement: “At this time, the district has no reason to believe that anyone has been exposed to harm related to the incident in the news, but we will continue to monitor the situation and review all relevant information. Student safety is our top priority.”
Parkin’s motives are unclear. It is not known whether he was represented by a lawyer.
The Burlington Police Department said it was only able to identify and bring Parkin to justice because of tips from the public.
The police had been searching for Parkin for almost a week. As part of that investigation, police have decided to release video footage of one of the alleged rapes. Then, three days ago, they shared new surveillance photos that show the suspect in a better light.
Police said they are still investigating the allegations. Detectives have asked residents to review video from the doorbell camera, to see if they recognize Parkin lashing out.
Additionally, if you believe you may be a victim of Parkin, you are urged to contact the Burlington Police Department at (802) 658-2704, or Detective Corporal. Zach Beal at (802) 540-2364.
