Jenny McCarthy is considering a viral conspiracy theory that someone is pretending to be his ex Jim Carrey at a recent awards show in France.
McCarthy, 53, told People that “it was indeed Jim Carrey” who attended the 51st annual César awards in Paris on February 26, noting that the actor seemed happy to attend the event, where he received the Honorary César award.
“He looked so happy at that awards show. And I was happy for him. That’s the first thing I saw. I was like, ‘Oh, wow, Jim looks really happy,'” added McCarthy, who dated Carrey, 64, from 2005 to 2010.

Carrey was the subject of wild speculation that someone had done it for him at the French film awards, its organizer. Gregory Caulier later closed in a statement to Variety.
“Jim Carrey’s tour has been planned since this summer,” Caulier said in a March statement. “Right from the start, the invitation to the Academy really touched him.” 8 months of ongoing, constructive discussions. Carrey and McCarthy split in April 2010 after five years of dating.
“I am very grateful for the years that Jim and I shared,” McCarthy said in a statement at the time. “I will continue to be in her daughter’s life and I will always keep Jim as the leading man in my heart.”
McCarthy continued to date singer and actor Wahlberg, 56, and the pair married in August 2014.
