The United States once again defeated Canada on Olympic ice for gold, this time at the Paralympic Games.
After a 6-2 win over Canada on Sunday, the US took home gold in Paralympics sled hockey.
In doing so, they became the first country to win five consecutive Paralympic titles. They were also the first to sweep all three Paralympic and Olympic hockey events in one tournament.

Of course, the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams also won gold, doing so in overtime in both gold medal games at the Milan Cortina Games last month.
But the competition between the rivals did not need more time, as the US saw Jack Wallace score a hat trick, when he took advantage, to help the Stars and Stripes play against Canada.
“This team is very special,” Wallace, who completed his third Paralympic Games, told NBC after the win. “We love each other. This team survived, it’s a f—ing tough game. It was unbelievable. I love these guys so much.”

In addition to Wallace’s goals, Kayden Beasley, Declan Farmer and Brody Roybal each had a goal.
Only Canada’s Liam Hickey could score, combining for two goals that weren’t enough in the end.

While hockey is often a sport dominated by Canadians, the Paralympic Games have seen Team USA in that position for quite some time now. And they showed why throughout the tournament, getting past Italy, Germany, China and Czechia before facing Canada in the gold medal game.
Canada is one of the top teams in the world, too, having seen off the US in three consecutive Paralympic gold medal appearances and eight consecutive world championship finals.
But the US has had success at the Olympics, and they continued the trend on Sunday to complete what was an exciting time for everyone at home watching the red, white and blue on the ice.
