Olivia Munn Shares Cancer Advice With Shannen Doherty

Olivia Munn shares the best advice he received from a deceased person Shannen Doherty as they both battle cancer.
Speaking at Los Angeles Magazine At the LA Woman Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday, March 13, Munn, 45, said Doherty told her to “be aggressive” after finding out she had been diagnosed.
“He told me to go through this…he told me to be aggressive,” explained Mun Page Six.
The actress added that she is lucky to have a “fighting chance” if that chance is not given to many women with the same health problem.
Doherty died on July 13, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. He was 53 years old You are enchanted alum was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, and eventually went into remission. By 2020, the illness had recurred and later spread to his bones.
“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after a long battle with the disease,” Doherty’s spokesperson said. Leslie Sloane said the statement to Us Weekly at that time. “A devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones and her dog, Bowie. The family requests privacy at this time to mourn in peace.”
At the time, Munn was keeping a low profile about her cancer journey after being diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023. She underwent a double mastectomy a month later as the first of several surgeries, including reconstructive surgery.
Munn went public with her diagnosis in a lengthy Instagram post shared in March 2024.
“Surprisingly, I’ve only cried twice. I don’t think I’ve ever had time to cry. I really focused and put on the table any emotions that I felt would interfere with my ability to stay focused,” he wrote at the time.

After Doherty’s death in July 2024, Munn revealed that he was “heartbroken” by the loss.
“When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, I remembered how she let the world into her journey and [I] I reached out to him,” Munn wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. [Beverly Hills,] 90210 was everything to me when I was 10.”
Munn praised Doherty for her support and efforts to help other women battling cancer.
“We are committed to a common fight and a desire to help other women,” continued Mun. “When I look back at the last text he sent me a few months ago, he asked how I was doing and if there was anything he could do for me.”
Munnn added, “Shannen was really supportive even though she was in the last stages of fighting this horrible disease. Cancer is really scary and Shannen faced it with dignity, strength and grace.”
