Did Trent Hint at Iantha Richardson’s Coming Out as Faith?

On the Tuesday, March 10, episode of ABC’s hit series, Faith (Iantha Richardson) was still struggling after placing Malcolm (DeVaughn Nixon) in the cells despite being in love with him. He received many letters from Malcolm, which led to a conversation between him and Amanda (Sonja Sohn).

“I’m looking at you and the job you’ve had and how much it costs,” Faith told Amanda. “And in my head, I know what we’re doing in the end – it’s important.”

Faith admitted that she didn’t know if she could “do this job again” after working for the GBI cost her a relationship. The episode ended with Amanda in shock, but it wasn’t clear if Faith was really planning to look for a different job.

Richardson, 35, has previously teased how Faith’s romance with Malcolm will continue to affect him.

“I think he was wearing rose-colored glasses, he had his bad boy moment,” he said People earlier this month. “She was a young mother, maybe she never had a bad boy. This would be the first time and now she’s done it. She did it, we’re done.”

Richardson said he’s ready for Faith to “find some stability,” adding, “She deserves that. She’s done a lot, she’s worked hard in her life. She deserves some happiness and I’m happy about that.”

He continued, “I feel like he should have real love. I just want to see him with someone and be happy. And there could be some changes, because the audience loves the drama, but I think it’s time for him to be lucky in love.”

Richardson teased that Faith will be “ruled” in a “really meaningful way in what she’s doing.”

Based on the book by Karin Slaughter, Will Trent follows a special agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who was abandoned at birth and raised in Atlanta’s troubled foster care system. Will (Ramón Rodríguez) now relies on his unique vision while pursuing justice, leading to a high approval rating at the GBI.

In addition to Rodríguez, Richardson, Erika Christensen, Jake McLaughlin, Sonja Sohn, Kevin Daniels again The Bluebell the dog makes all the other characters.

Faith is not the only character whose story will continue to be expanded. Earlier this year, Rodríguez promised viewers that they would see a new side of Will.

“For someone like Will who didn’t really take a lot of time to do that – considering how much he’s been through – he just moves on and focuses on his work,” Rodriguez explained. “He’s keeping himself busy because those were some of his ways of coping and now he’s going to meet a strange therapist where his tactics might be weird. But I think that’s what someone like Will needs.”

He concluded, “I like that we took what we’ve seen a million times before in movies and shows — which is therapy — and said, ‘How can we make this really different and give it the Will Trent spin that we’re trying to do?’ I loved you.”

Will Trent airs on ABC on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET before airing the next day on Hulu.
