The Iran War Operation Epic Fury defended as an America First policy strategy

Operation Epic Fury has created a barrage of critics from across the political spectrum, including within the MAGA movement. They say it reveals President Donald Trump’s promise to put America First and the danger of dragging America into a major regional war. They argue that what is happening in the Middle East is irrelevant to the American people and diverts attention from economic, security and cultural issues at home. They are wrong.

President Trump’s war against Iran is very important to America First. It aims to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

The Trump administration has repeatedly stated that the United States has three objectives regarding the Iranian regime: stopping its nuclear weapons program, stopping its missile program and ending support for terrorist proxies. That’s what the Witkoff-Kushner talks were about. That’s what drives Operation Epic Fury. The most dangerous state in the world should not be allowed to have the most dangerous weapons in the world.

The war with Iran is not primarily about freeing the Iranian people from a brutal dictatorship or forcing regime change. Those may be good intentions, but they are not essential to America’s national security.

What poses an existential threat to the United States is Iran’s nuclear weapons and missile programs. A nuclear Iran will use the threat of nuclear weapons to pressure the United States into doing what it wants. A nuclear Iran will ignite a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. The Iranian regime’s love affair with martyrdom may lead it to launch those nuclear weapons against the United States and its allies.

Preventing Iran from developing nuclear-tipped missiles capable of hitting the United States is about as America First as it gets.

These are direct threats to the very existence of the United States. If we fail to destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons program now, it is not a question of whether Iran will “go nuclear”; it’s just a matter of when. Iran has made its intentions clear – it will never negotiate its nuclear program. If the United States blows up its development sites, Iran will rebuild — and again.

Critics are quick to point out the dangers in Operation Epic Fury; there are always dangers in war. But there are also risks to doing nothing to stop Iran, and the consequences for America.

The time to act is now, before Iran gets nuclear weapons. Because of the careful and systematic steps President Trump has taken to weaken Iran militarily, economically and diplomatically, the Iranian regime is now at its most vulnerable point in history.

US ‘COMPLETELY WINNING’ THROUGH IRAN, WILL ACHIEVE ‘TOTAL CONTROL’ OF AIRSPACE WITHIN DAYS, HEGSETH SAYS

A good leader deals with problems as they arise. A wise leader stops them. War with Iran is a risk, but it is a calculated risk that must be taken. Success will not come without sacrifice, but it will ensure America’s security and prosperity for a generation.

Preventing Iran from developing nuclear-tipped missiles capable of hitting the United States is about as America First as it gets.

Operation Epic Fury is also compatible with MAGA. It will ensure our prosperity, not only today but also in the future. It is the final piece of the strategy that consolidates America’s dominance over the world’s energy supply.

Since the beginning of the industrial age more than 200 years ago, energy has been the main driver of productivity and technological progress. Countries that have access to coal, oil and natural gas are rich.

Energy will be an even bigger factor in the future of information. The world’s demand for energy is growing rapidly to power the computers needed for artificial intelligence.

Trump understands this. The country that excels in artificial intelligence will lead the world.

BEYOND IRAN MONEY: WHY TRUMP’S REFUSAL TO ‘KICK CANAAN’ SAVED GENERATIONS

He has taken the shackles off America’s oil and gas industries. The United States is now overseeing the reconstruction of Venezuela’s energy industry. It has significant influence over its energy-rich Gulf Arab allies. Iran will be the final piece of the puzzle, if the United States can help develop its oil resources.

Chinese President Xi Jinping also understands this.

China is one of the most energy dependent countries in the world. It has no significant domestic oil or natural gas reserves. Xi has worked for years to ensure China has access to cheap oil and natural gas. China bought most of its oil at deep discounts from three countries that have been given sanctions – Russia, Venezuela and Iran. This has been critical to China’s manufacturing success and will be critical to its technological dominance in the information age.

If China no longer has access to the discounted Venezuelan and Iranian oil, it will be in dire straits for years to come. Even if it imports all of Russia’s energy at a discount, it will still be forced to buy oil and gas at market prices to recoup losses. As President Trump said after Maduro’s ouster, if China wants to buy oil, it can buy it from America at market prices.

Other countries, including Venezuela, Iran and the Gulf Arab States, have oil and gas. Others, such as China, have technological prowess. But only the United States has both.

President Trump’s economic, trade and foreign policy is making America great again. To keep America good in the information age, the United States must dominate the global energy market. Success in Operation Epic Fury is critical to keeping America good.
