Arizona Mother Dies in Dog Attack Defending Her 5-Year-Old Son

California police are investigating the death of a young Arizona mother after she was fatally shot while protecting her five-year-old son. Us Weekly you are educated.
Emily Panuco suffered multiple injuries during the February 27 attack at his mother’s home in Big River, California. He was only 26 years old.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Panuco suffered bite wounds and died.
Panuco was visiting California to see the new puppies where their mother lives. Authorities say Panuco’s mother was not at home when she was attacked.
The little boy got too close to the puppies, causing the three grown dogs – including the puppy’s mother – to violently attack the child.
Panuco stepped between her son, Jesse, and the dogs to protect him, police said. He was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to detectives. His son was taken to the hospital for treatment after suffering two serious bite wounds in the incident. The three dogs involved in the attack were euthanized by animal control, the sheriff’s office said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Panuco’s family has started a GoFundMe campaign for her husband and their children, including 7-month-old daughter, Rosmé.
“The shock and pain of this event has left the family stunned, and they need support from their community,” the GoFundMe read. “The money raised will go directly towards Emily’s funeral expenses, providing daily necessities such as food, and ensuring that Richie and her children receive treatment and resources to help them grieve and heal.”
The statement continued, “Emily was a devoted mother who worked at the CRITT library, where she touched the lives of many children and families. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and her absence leaves a great void.”
The fundraiser asks that people “pray for Richie, his children, and their entire family as they try to deal with this difficult time. Your donation will help Richie grieve the loss of his wonderful wife and support his children with the essentials they need. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference to this family as they begin to rebuild their lives.”
The fundraising effort has generated more than $36,000 in donations at press time.
It is not clear whether criminal charges are being considered in connection with this incident that killed many people. Us contacted the sheriff’s office for comment but did not hear back by press time.
