Justin Baldoni, Wife Speaks Out After Blake Lively’s Settlement

Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily Baldonithey talk about their new way after his legal dispute no Blake Lively it was fixed.
“We haven’t done this in a while, so we haven’t spoken publicly for the better part of two years and it’s not because we have nothing to say,” Justin, 42, began the statement. Instagram video shared on Wednesday, July 8. “God knows we have it, but it just felt like every time we went to do a video like this where we wanted to talk, something was telling us not to. It didn’t feel like the right time. We were talking about it and feeling about it and praying about it.”
Emily, 41, chimed in, revealing that “this feels like a moment” to talk.
“That being said, we have a lot to say and it makes it hard to talk, it makes it hard to figure out what’s best for us at this particular time,” Emily commented. “But what feels important is that we can honestly say that we are sitting here today feeling very grateful for so many things and so many people and so many people that have happened to us.”

Justin vehemently denied the allegations, and filed a defamation suit against Lively, which was dismissed by a judge.

“And I feel it’s important as we say that, in that gratitude, we don’t ignore the injustice and the pain we’ve felt in the last few years,” continued Emily. “We had to deal with a lot of things and try to understand a lot of things, like, ‘How could something like this happen?’ Stop hiding[d] like fighting for women. There is a lot that we have to release, and the truth is that there is a lot of trauma that we have to go through as a family, which makes it difficult to talk.”
Justin also admitted that there have been “a lot of painful things that have been said and done” because of the long legal battle.
“That created noise and we didn’t want to add noise,” he explained of the reasons why the couple remained silent. “We wanted to allow the justice system to do its job.”
A judge ruled in May to dismiss most of Lively’s charges. I rest was fixed a few weeks before the two were to go on trial.
“The truth and the facts speak for themselves,” Emily said Wednesday. “And here we are.”
In the months since the legal battle ended, Justin and Emily have been focusing on “healing.”
“We heal, and if you’ve ever been through something painful, you know that healing is not linear,” Justin said. “It looks different every day, and we’ve had to rethink what’s real and what’s important and that’s it, our family, our friends, our community. [who] he has been there for us, it is our faith.”
He continued, “I think we’re as close and devoted and rooted in our faith as we’ve ever been. And, and this was in both of our hearts, there were so many of you who, when we didn’t have a voice, became our voice. … so many of you and all of our friends and family.”
According to Justin, he and his wife learned one big lesson from the ordeal.
“One thing we have learned is that when God presses the reset button and everything is taken away, that’s when love shows up,” he said. “And we feel very loved.”
Justin and Emily closed out their four-minute video, stressing that they will have “a lot more to say” later.
“That time will come,” Emily commented. “For now, we will focus on continuing to heal and spend our children and enjoy life.”
