Disney Channel Announces New Cheetah Girls: The Next Gen

Disney completely surprised millennials on Wednesday, July 8, when the network announced a new musical-driven movie called. The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen.
A new cast of talented young actors, incl Leah Sava’ Jeffries, Carmen Sanchez, Kaileen Chang again Sophie Lennonthey are expected to act in the upcoming movie.
But wait, there’s more! Symoné – who serves as an executive producer on the project – will reprise her role as Galleria alongside Bailon-Houghton, who returns as Chanel.
Lynn Whitfield again Lori Alter are set to play Dorothea and Juanita again, while Sabrina Bryan will make a special appearance as Dorinda, Disney confirmed. To top it all off, Sophia Bush she will also appear in a supporting role as Jennifré.

Disney“The story begins when Cheetah Girls Galleria (Symoné, 40) and Chanel (Bailon-Houghton, 42), along with Galleria’s daughter Faith (Jeffries, 16) and her three friends, travel to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary,” Disney said in a press release. “As it is, these four girls test their friendship, find their voice and find the true Cheetah spirit as they save to save and finally take the stage as the new Cheetah girls.”
The Cheetah Girls is one of the most popular Disney Channel Original Movie franchises. When it first aired in 2003, The Cheetah Girls was the No. 1 highest-rated movie on broadcast or cable.
The franchise has also launched tours and greatest hits, including “Cheetah Sisters,” “The Party’s Just Begun” and “Cinderella.”

Bringing this dynamic new group of young stars to the franchise allows us to continue that legacy into a new era for kids and families.”

Although the premiere date has not yet been announced, filming is expected to begin in South Africa later this month.
