Erika Self-Tan Secrets Behind Filtered Light
Prep is Everything
“If you don’t exfoliate regularly, start gently for three to four days leading up to your lightening,” says Vasco, noting that this helps ensure a streak-free application. “I recommend using an exfoliating mitt like Cleanlogic’s.” When he chooses to scrub, he adds, try to “avoid oil- or cream-based [formulas] as they can leave a film on the skin that interferes with the way the redness develops.”
How to Carve and Explain
“Contouring adds depth and dimension, which creates the appearance of more definition,” she says. “Use it [thinner brushes] with precision – they give you more control when sculpting areas like abs. From there, use a larger, foundation-style brush to buff and spread the edges so that everything blends well into the skin.”
You can reduce the appearance of cellulite
“The important thing is to make sure that your request is consistent,” he said. “Areas like the upper thighs tend to be lighter, so it’s important to put enough product there to tone the entire leg.” This helps blur uneven texture: “When the color is balanced from top to bottom, the skin appears smoother and more uniform.”
Choose the Correct Formula
For someone with “sensitive or delicate skin,” says Vasco Us that clear water for tanning – like his Water Veil, suitable for “small, visible areas such as the neck, shoulders, décolletage and arms” – is a better option than mousse. “Normally they don’t have bronzer, [so] you’re less likely to stick to dry patches or emphasize uneven texture.”
