Kimberly Van Der Beek Supports Nara Smith Amid Childhood Cancer

It’s late Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beekwidow, Kimberlyjoined a host of stars in supporting the promoter Nara Smith during her 2-year-old daughter’s cancer battle.
“I respect you and your courage as you have taken the unimaginable journey through cancer,” Kimberly, 44, commented on Smith’s Instagram page revealing her daughter Whimsy’s diagnosis on Wednesday, July 1.
Kimberly lost her husband James at the age of 48 in February following a public battle with stage III colorectal cancer.
On Tuesday, June 30, Nara shared that she and her husband, are models Lucky Blue Smithdiscovered that Whimsy had cancer “late last year” after taking him to the pediatrician to have “something suspicious” in his body checked.
“When we took him to the pediatrician, I just remember him being quiet and calm … My heart dropped at that moment,” he explained to viewers. “I don’t know if it was my gut telling me something or my mother’s feeling, but the first thing I heard was that she had cancer.”
The organizer continued, “After many X-rays, ultrasounds and biopsy tests, they immediately called us and said that he had cancer, he told us that it had spread and that he needed to come and start chemo treatment immediately,”
In response to her announcement, many of Nara’s famous friends and fans posted their best wishes in the comments section of the Instagram reel.
The facilitator Emilie Kiser — who lost her 3-year-old son Trigg in a pool accident in May 2025 — wrote to Nara, “I’m so sorry Nara❤️🩹 Sending you so much comfort and love, and sweet Whimsy. You are amazing and so strong.”
“My beautiful female friend ❤️❤️🩹,” the singer Raye answer, with a model Elsa Hosk he added, “My angel I’m so sorry. I’m sending you lots of love and I’m praying hard that you get what you want❤️🩹”
Black Love the host Khadeen Ellis she wrote to the organizer, “Nara— when one mom goes through a situation like that, we all feel it. Sending loads of love and prayers to you all— and Whimsy Lou’s full recovery ❤️🩹🙏🏽”

“Sending all my love and prayers your family’s way🫶🏽🤍more than sorry to hear this you sweet soul,” the model and influencer Kendra Bailey replied Nara.

Thousands of others posted support in the reel’s comments section, including the former The real thing the hostel Jeannie Mai sending more “heart” emojis.
In her first post, Nara explained that she may not be active on social media for the foreseeable future as she focuses on Whimsy’s health and well-being.
“Most of you may have noticed that I’ve been posting less and that’s why,” she said. “Since we’ve had all of this and we’re looking at this during childbirth, and we’re loving and taking care of our other children at home, being in the hospital with Whimsy a lot and balancing work on top of that has been really challenging.”
Besides Whimsy, Nara and Lucky share daughter Rumble Honey, 5, son Slim Easy, 4, and 9-month-old daughter Fawnie Golden. (Lucky is also the father of daughter Gravity, with whom he shares an ex Stormi Bree.)
Nara rose to fame on social media in 2024 as the face of an online “trading wife” movement, promoting traditional, stay-at-home jobs. (Nara later insisted that there was nothing “traditional” about her marriage to Lucky.)
