Is Marvel Playing The Rest Of Us With Fake Leaks?

It’s an exciting time to be a Marvel fan. We get solid superhero television (like Daredevil: Born Again), and a new Spider-Man movie is just around the corner. In December, Avengers: Doomsday will also feature Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. on the big screen in what is sure to be the biggest movie of the year. To ensure that their classic crossover has a big impact on fans, Marvel has been doing everything possible to keep details about Doomsday and its piece is wrapped. Unfortunately, trailers and images of upcoming movies keep getting leaked online.
Recently, the big trailer of Spider-Man: A New Day leaked online well before its official release. Less than a week later, the videos appeared Avengers: Doomsday found its way to the Internet. This is similar to the incident last December when the trailers Doomsday has been leaking online ahead of its theatrical release. Leaks are a problem that has been getting worse, leading many fans to question why Marvel’s security has been so lax. Well, I think the answer is simple. Marvel is deliberately “leaking” videos as a way to build hype and defeat the biggest villain of all: extreme fatigue.
New Product Day, Same Old Leak

The past week alone has been pretty bad for Marvel when it comes to leaks. First, the big one Spider-Man: A New Day trailer leaked which gave us glimpses of major developments, including the Gray Hulk and the fact that Sadie Sink appears to be mind-controlling him, which may ultimately confirm that she is playing Jean Grey. Recently, a video appeared Avengers: Doomsday the leak shows Doctor Doom sending the Sentinels to fight the Avengers, Thunderbolts, X-Men, and Fantastic Four. Although the video has no sound and is clumsily done, it still seems to provide some great details about the film’s big fight.
Marvel has had leak issues for a long time. In fact, for the past few years, they have been taking legal action, trying to find out which insiders were leaking clips of upcoming films like this. Spider-Man: No Way Home again Doctor Strange in Various Madness Circles. Now, things have escalated so much that we’re getting actual trailers and photos well before the studio wants us to see them. Why is this happening? Marvel’s security may have gotten really sloppy during the year of their two blockbuster movies (Spider-Man: A New Day again Avengers: Doomsday) to release. However, it is very likely that this “leak” is coming directly from Marvel.
Marvel is playing 4D Chess

Why would Marvel start leaking their own footage after spending years trying to stop other leakers? The most obvious reason, of course, is free advertising. Selling something like Avengers: Doomsday or Spider-Man: A New Day it can be insanely expensive and eventually reach the film line. By leaking their own footage, Marvel doesn’t have to spend a dime; they just have to sit back and watch the rest of us successfully promote these upcoming movies by sharing leaks with our real friends, posting them online to our fans, and generally speculating to anyone who will listen about what the movie will be about.
Another big reason why Marvel leaks their own movie is to control the narrative. In recent years, there have been a lot of fake superhero trailers and AI-generated images. The creators are sharing this video online, hoping to gain popularity by making you think it’s real; In the meantime, Marvel should spend a lot of time and money setting the record straight about this lie. By releasing their own photos, they can make everyone pay attention to the real deal while generating virtual hype with cool scenes (like, Doctor Doom sickening a bunch of Sentinels with fan-favorite characters like Thor and Captain America).
Fake Leaks Are Win/Win For Marvel

Marvel releases its footage in planned “leaks” and allows it to gauge audience reaction and, if necessary, edit the film. For example, i Avengers: Doomsday the video was leaked more than half a year before the film came out. If the audience really hates what they see, there is a time for the studio to make changes to the film through creative editing and, in the worst case, reshoot. On the other hand, if the audience likes what they see, Marvel knows it indeed what to emphasize when selling their most expensive blockbuster.
Obviously, there is no way to prove this particular theory. Maybe the videos keep leaking because Marvel is full of disgruntled employees, or maybe it’s employees who want to leave their weird mark on the world. Whatever the cause, however, it seems like Marvel’s leak problem is getting worse by the year. Does this make the hero fatigue worse and worse Avengers: Doomsdayor will it generate enough hype that Marvel is laughing all the way to the bank? Without the Eye of Agomatto to help us, we will never know Doomsday bursting into theaters on December 18.
