David Krumholtz she doesn’t get much of a holiday bonus from him Santa Clause remains.
“They’re too small because the movie is too big,” Krumholtz, 48, said recently Page Six of the checks he received every year from the 1994 Christmas movie he starred in Tim Allen.

Krumholtz played Bernard, the head of Allen’s Santa Claus, in the highly successful holiday game and its 2002 sequel. Although he did not reprise his role in the third installment in 2006, Krumholtz made a cameo in the 2022 Disney+ follow-up series, Santa Clauses.
Krumholtz told the outlet that his paychecks were “good” for the first few years after the first film was released, but these days, he’s making “150 bucks a year” in cash.
Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026 inductee, who is also known for his roles in 10 Things I Hate About You as well as Harold & Kumar films, which is estimated to be the highest earner remaining in 2023 Oppenheimer. When asked how much he actually made on the film, Krumholtz joked, “That’s none of your business! What kind of question is that?” Then he added, “It’s $12.73. Enough to buy a hot dog in New York.”
Even though he doesn’t make much money anymore Santa Clause, Krumholtz still has many memories from the film’s set and aftermath – including the time he saved 150 children from a fire.
“The crew was planning the next shot. And out of the corner of my eye I saw a bunch of little kids, 7 years old, gathering smoke on the second level,” Krumholtz said. Entertainment Weekly in 2024, explaining that one of the lamps overheated. “And I’m like, ‘What the f*** is going on there?’ And they just look at it like, ‘Wow,’ and point at it.”
Krumholtz kept the children calm as they moved them to safety and alerted staff of the fire. He received a bottle of champagne the next day as a thank you, even though he wasn’t drinking at the time.
“I mean, I had to get the money,” he joked. “You know what I mean? A lot of money.”
Krumholtz was also excited to reprise his role Santa Clausesdespite having previously had negative feelings about his personality.
“For a long time, my ego did not allow me to be paired with an actor,” he said Time in 2022. “I will admit that I was angry [The Santa Clause] most of my 20s and 30s, but since I had just had children myself, I thought, ‘There’s something worth emulating about Bernard.’ I wish I could be Bernard somehow.”
