The Islamic Republic of Iran has formed a coalition of Shiite terrorist proxies – the axis of resistance – which is planned to join Tehran in response to the joint US-Israeli attack on the installation of the military and leadership of Iran.

The most dangerous of Iran’s allies is its main strategic partner, the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah. The Israeli army had been concentrating heavily on Hezbollah positions before the American campaign, Operation Epic Fury.

Hezbollah

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) are responsible for disarming Hezbollah, according to Nov. 2024 cease fire with Israel. The spokeswoman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Effie Defrin, said on Friday “In Lebanon, we continue to fight the efforts of the terrorist organization Hezbollah to rebuild and re-arm.”

He said, “An example of this is the strike we carried out yesterday in the Baalbek area, where we targeted ammunition storage facilities and eliminated terrorists from the Radwan Force. We will not allow Hezbollah to rebuild its capabilities and become a threat to the people of Israel.”

A senior Hezbollah official said on Wednesday the jihadi terrorist organization will not intervene militarily if the US imposes “restrictions” on Iran. However, a Hezbollah official said they consider any attack on Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei “a red line.”

According to the Israel-based Alma Research and Education Center (Alma), “Hezbollah maintains a large military force, estimated at around 40,000-50,000 active soldiers and 30,000-50,000 additional soldiers. Central to its offensive structure is the Radwan Unit, which Hezbollah is making major efforts to restore.”

IDF Lt. Col. (Res.) Sarit Zehavi, president and founder of Alma in northern Israel, told Fox News Digital, that “the Lebanese army is not making a big effort to disarm Hezbollah. As a result, good intentions are just words. As a resident of the north, I have not seen any systematic disarmament.”

Edy Cohen, a Lebanese-born Israeli expert on Hezbollah, told Fox News Digital that “Lebanese citizens do not see Hezbollah as a resistance” because Hezbollah lost its most recent war against Israel. He said that Hezbollah failed in its efforts to help Hamas in Gaza to defeat Israel after its attack on the Jewish state on October 7, 2023.

Popular Iraqi Forces:

A second proxy supported by Iran is the Shiite militia in Iraq. Entifadh Qanbar, the former spokesman for the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq, told Fox News Digital that he believes that the Shiite militias will join Iran in the war: “Many leaders of the second group of Shiites, the warlords, as I like to call them, have the desire to rise up and challenge the high-level leadership. That they are brave, defiant and ready to fight to protect Tehran.”

He added, “Their ambitions have blinded their rational thinking. These are militia terrorists who have little understanding of the outside world, yet they are dangerously overconfident. They are a loose group, completely powerless and Iran is ready to throw them into the fire because they are useful. That is why you see Kataeb Hezbollah in Iraq issuing threats, while the elders, Lebanon have created a clear militia and will establish it.”

Iraq’s pro-Iranian militia accused the US of bombing it and vowed to retaliate on Saturday. Kataeb Hezbollah said that the US is facing a strike against an Iraqi military base that houses Iranian forces. A terrorist group in Iraq says it will “soon begin attacking American bases because of their attacks.”

The Houthis:

The third axis of resistance is the Houthi movement in Yemen.

The Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen have decided to resume missile and drone attacks on shipping lanes and Israel that support Iran, according to two senior Houthi officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because there has been no official announcement from the Houthi leadership, according to the Associated Press.

One of the officials said the first attack by the rebels could happen as soon as “tonight.” The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in the Gaza Strip is also part of the axis of resistance and Hamas and Iran are also partners in their campaigns to destroy the Jewish state.
