Carson Daly Doesn’t Want Vegans For His Kids

Carson Daly he has one request for his children when they start dating.

“The only reservation I can make for my children would be, like, [dating] vegan or something like that maybe,” Daly, 52, said during the Monday, May 19, episode Today With Jenna and Sheinelle.

Following Daly’s confession, the backstage crew erupted in laughter.

“Is that a bad thing to say? Am I going to be canceled for that?” Daly asked.

Cohost Jenna Bush Hager He had some questions for Daly and asked if he wanted his future friends to be able to eat meat. (Daly shares four children: Jackson, 17, Etta, 13, London, 11, and Goldie, 6, with wife Siri Pinter.)

“Yes, I mean, look!” Daly responded before explaining how he thinks about foodies. “Food, it’s like, is a very important part, like the fabric of our family.”

He went on to say, “If we didn’t have food, I wouldn’t talk to my wife about anything. It keeps us together. So if one of them comes home with someone who was very special, like, ‘I don’t eat anything – sea fish, cattle rustling.’ Like, I have a Traeger [smoker]brother.”

Daly also clarified that he did not include people with food allergies in his diet.

“I’m not the devil!” he laughed.

Daly explained that her anxiety stems from the thought of one of her children coming with a partner who cannot eat what they have cooked for family meals.

“I mean, it would suck if they came into the house on Sunday, and we’d have, like, a big Daly party, we’d make pizzas, and they’d be like, ‘I can’t eat anything.’ I’d say, ‘You’re a failure. Abandon him,’” he said.

While Daly is safe from her vegan-loving children for now, the morning show host is approaching a big milestone with son Jackson, who is preparing to head off to college next year. Daly joked that he wanted to find a place near the school.

“I’m looking for real estate in the entire university,” Daly quipped Monday. “Every time we drive through LIU Post out to Long Island, I’m like, ‘Buddy, we’re going to get an apartment for the sick here. I’m going to hang out. It’s going to be great.’ In my mind, I will go to college with him. The truth has not yet come.”
