‘Yellowstone’ fans erupt with excitement over ‘Dutton Ranch’ trailer

“Yellowstone” fans are already anticipating “Dutton Ranch,” with a new trailer for the upcoming series generating excitement all over social media.
“Dutton Ranch,” premiering May 15, follows “Yellowstone”‘s Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) as they leave Montana after the events of the show’s finale.
On Thursday, Paramount+ released the latest trailer for “Dutton Ranch,” which teases a new chapter for Beth and Rip as they try to start over in Texas, only to be drawn into a new mess of conflict, violence and power struggles.

As the trailer opens, a distraught Beth tells Rip, “I miss him,” referring to her father, John Dutton III, (Kevin Costner), who was killed in the fifth season of “Yellowstone.”
“Bring us the best part of your father,” Rip says as the camera pans over a cowboy hat and a portrait of John (Josh Lucas).

The trailer also featured Finn Little, who reprises his role as Beth and Rip’s adopted son Carter as well as new additions to the “Yellowstone” universe, Annette Bening and Ed Harris.
“Rio Paloma is very complicated,” Bening, who plays Beulah Jackson, the head of a powerful Texas ranch, said in a trailer.
Meanwhile, Harris, who portrays vet Everett McKinney, is seen smiling in one scene and holding a gun in another.
“Nobody understands what we did to protect this ranch,” said Jai Courtney, who played Texas rancher Rob-Will.
“I need you to be ready for the hard parts because they’re coming,” Beth told Carter as she loaded the gun.
“Sounds good,” Carter replied.

The funny captions showed a big shot of Beth, Rip and Carter’s new life in Texas before jumping to a quick scene showing violent battles, flash of fire and destruction, and what appears to be a corpse being thrown off a cliff.
“Inheritance is a beautiful thing, but only if it lasts,” says Beth as the trailer ends.
Soon after the trailer dropped, fans took to social media to share their reactions.

“This is going to be epic,” added another.
“I couldn’t be happier,” said one fan, “I’m so ready for this!”

“I’m so excited this is going to be the best show I’ve ever watched in my entire life!!!!!” another social media user came up with.
“I’m so excited about this,” added another.
“They found a new train station? LET’S GO!!!” wrote one fan, referring to the remote Wyoming cliffside from “Yellowstone” where the Dutton family and their allies disposed of enemies and bodies.

Fans also expressed their excitement to see the return of Beth and Rip.
“The best couple in history is back,” said one Instagram user.
“Ohhh I’m exhausted, I’m so happy to have them back on my screen!!!!! my parents are back!” one added while another wrote, “Bring it to the icons.”

The official synopsis for “Dutton Ranch” reads, “As Beth and Rip struggle to build a future together – away from the ghosts of Yellowstone – they collide with brutal new realities and a brutal rival ranch that can’t protect its kingdom.”

“Dutton Ranch” also stars Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, JR Villarreal, Marc Menchaca and Natalie Alyn Lind.

Speaking to The Sunday Times in January, Reilly shed some light on what viewers can expect to see from Beth as her story continues.
“This is a different season – I had reached my quota for little Beth,” he said. “But there was a lot that made the audience like her. Beth was relentless, dangerous and could easily be written as a man – people were very critical at first.”

Reilly shared his opinion that the criticism of Beth was caused by the way the actress defied viewers’ expectations of how women “should” behave on screen.
“He’s hopeless, on the outside, flawed, wounded and brave,” Reilly said. “Women are always asked to play strong role models, while men can play the worst characters and fail.”

“That was a great relief,” he commented.
“Dutton Ranch” will premiere internationally on Paramount+ on May 15, at 8pm ET/PT, in two episodes, then weekly for a nine-episode first season.
