For sci-fi fans, there is perhaps no more common trope than time travel. From Star Trek to Back to the Futurewe are used to our favorite heroes and villains traveling through time to save or threaten everything that has ever been or will be.
This has naturally led to fan debates about which film is the best use of this film, but those debates are unnecessary because the answer has been staring us in the face for over 30 years. Simply put, Timecop is the coolest time travel movie ever made, and now you can stream it for free on Tubi.

Timecop (adapted from the Mike Richardson and Mark Verheiden story of the same name, published by Dark Horse Comics) centers on a government agency charged with preventing crimes involving time travel. A one-time cop, Agent Max Walker, gets caught up in a tumultuous short-term case involving a congressman who is misusing a trip to fund his presidential ambitions.
After that, the Senator pulls a Biff Tannen and successfully changes the future in his favor. It will take all of Walker’s skills and knowledge to save the world; he must preserve history itself.
Good concerts are the basis of Timecop. Ron Silver (best known for his Emmy-nominated role in The West Wing) plays a Senator who manipulates the timeline. Meanwhile, Mia Sara (best known for playing the title character’s love interest in Ferris Bueller Day) plays Max Walker’s wife. In the end, Walker is played by martial arts star Jean-Claude Van Damme, whose unique action-schlock chutzpah takes a turn for the worse. Timecop to something almost too strange.
Reaction to Timecop
Fortunately, the general audience didn’t get it Timecop it’s weird once it starts. The film went on to gross $101.6 million against a $27 million budget. Although not a huge success, the movie earned enough to spawn a short-lived ABC television adaptation in 1997. Finally, we got a direct-to-video sequel in 2003, although neither the sequel nor the television series brought Van Damme back.
The first one Timecop it may have impressed at the box office, but it didn’t impress the critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a critical rating of 42 percent. In general, critics agreed that the film would appeal to sci-fi fans who would suspend their disbelief and avoid asking too many questions about time travel. However, critics agreed that the film fell too far from cinematic time travel classics like James Cameron’s. The Terminator.

So, the moment of truth: why I recommend you watch Timecopa maligned sci-fi film where the pop culture trail can be measured by the opposite following? First of all, despite the sleeplessness of critics who scorned the history of science fiction, the film’s timeline is clever and compelling. Its vision of how people will inevitably use temporary tools to gain wealth and power is simultaneously understandable and creative, as is the film as a whole. indeed it lives up to its foundation.

He’s not the most emotive or expressive actor, but he succeeds with a raw physicality that transforms what could be de rigueur movie battles into beautiful displays of a true military hero. Van Damme has always been a special hit for him because of his martial arts skills, and in the high-tech world of Timecop, his kung-fu killer style stands out even more with its delightfully precise, low-tech execution.
