Super Bowl champion Jerome Bettis weighs in on Jaxson Dart’s tackle, Abdul Carter

Super Bowl champion and Pittsburgh Steelers legend Jerome Bettis weighed in on the hotly debated Jaxson Dart and Abdul Carter.
Dart introduced President Donald Trump before his speech in Suffern, New York, on Friday, and New York Giants teammate Abdul Carter took issue with it. Bettis said there is no need for them to agree on their political views but they must find a way to work together.
“You don’t have to agree. And that’s it. I mean, you don’t agree with your teammates, but you have to find a way to work with them and I think that’s what happens,” Bettis told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.

Bettis said Dart and Carter need to find common ground.
“I think politics, it’s always there. It’s never really been at the forefront in terms of games or the locker room. So, I don’t think that’s ever been a problem. But what you have to do is find common ground. I think that’s what team sports are all about,” Bettis said.
“People from different walks of life come together to find a common goal. And in order for you all to support that goal, you have to find common ground with each other.”
It seems that Carter and Dart have found something in common as they seem to put an end to any possible rift when Carter tweets to X in a now-deleted tweet that they are “good.”
“JD6 and I are great! We talked before like men,” Carter wrote. “You can keep your stories.”

Dart, 23, set the stage for Trump’s speech with a song before welcoming the president on stage.
“Big Blue Nation, it’s a pleasure to be here. I have to start this off with ‘Go Big Blue,'” Dart said, then led the chant for a few seconds before continuing to introduce Trump.
“What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here, and without further ado, thank you, I’m honored, I’m pleased to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump.”
Trump and Dart then shook hands on stage before the 23-year-old left.
Carter started the firestorm by retweeting a video of Dart introducing Trump to the X and captioning the tweet, “I thought this — was AI, something we do human.” He has since deleted the tweet.
Bettis played from 1993-2005, and said politics was not an issue during his time in the NFL. He mentioned that the political situation has changed a lot in the last 20 years since he retired.
“No, it’s never (caused a problem). But you have to understand that the political climate right now is very divisive. And so I think it was a lot different 20 years ago than it is now. Now everybody’s picking sides with this and that and now you hate the other guy’s side. And it’s never been like that in politics 20 years ago. Well, you respected his politics a lot and now his politics was a different choice that’s oppressing people these days,” said Bettis.

American Century Championship
Bettis will be playing in the American Century Tournament from July 10-12 at Edgewood Golf Course in Lake Tahoe.
The tournament has raised more than $8 million for state and national charities. American Century Investments donates 40% of its profits to the Stowers Institute for Medical Research and has launched a tournament fundraiser to drive direct donations to Stowers each year.
Bettis has been competing in this tournament for a long time since he retired in 2006. He said it has been amazing to see the event grow over the years.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer said he is still trying to get back into form for the tournament. Bettis said he is trying a new swing and wondering how it will go.

Bettis said his favorite part of the tournament is interacting with the athletes and having fun with the boys.
“I think the favorite part is going to be hanging out with the athletes because obviously once you’re retired, you don’t get a chance to do that anymore. And so, when you get a chance to rub shoulders and have fun with guys like that in that locker room again, it’s really fun and exciting,” Bettis said.
This competition will be broadcast on NBC and Pigogo.
